Carla Umlauf is a second generation Austinite, and is highly involved in the culture, business, and development of the City. The strength of her connections, knowledge of residential construction & design, and experience in contract negotiations and marketing, has moved Carla up the list as one of Austin's Top Producing Agents. Over her career, she has sold over $80 million in volume and has helped over 300 families in real estate transactions. She is a member of the Luxury Homes Division at Keller Williams, and continues to make the Million Dollar List each month. Carla received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. As a Child Protective Services social worker, Carla worked first hand with families and various agencies to help children escape abuse and neglect. This taught her the importance of crisis management, negotiation, and navigating a complex network of professionals and organizations. Her experience in conducting Home Studies is what led her into a career in real estate. The foundation of Carla’s success is a relentless work ethic, her unique background, and an extensive network. She strives to give each client honest advice and personalized attention. She takes pride in her platinum level of customer service and attention to detail with each transaction. The majority of her business stems from repeat and referral clientele, as well as corporate relocation. Carla is proud of her family’s long tradition of giving back to the community. In 1985, her grandparents, Charles and Angie Umlauf, donated their home, artist studio, and acreage above Barton Springs to the City of Austin and founded the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum. She continues to honor her grandparents’ legacy by serving on the non-profit’s Board of Trustees. Carla works with the City of Austin and the Parks and Recreation Department to promote the operation of the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum, which is a non-profit gift to the Austin Community. Carla has worked with other art projects, including a recent exhibition at Hotel Ella and a sculpture donation to the Austin Independent School District. Carla and her husband Cass have two daughters who share their interest in art, dance, good food, and friends. They love spending time outdoors, enjoying Austin events, hosting parties, and spending time with their lab Maggie and Springer Spaniel, Oliver.
